summer lovin' happen so fast

Loads of action here at Higgins Beach. We are loving,
and soaking up every last minute of summer.
...

riding the waves

soaking up the sun

nice and steamy hot dog days of summer

I watched the dog below for quite a while...he was so cute and funny!
He kept dropping the log, but would always pick it up, no matter how heavy or awkward it was.

great friends and yummy food, make a great beach evening.

The Harrington's came to stay in our back cottage for a week. They have 4 boys...plus mine,
and Kosoff cousins.
There was lots of playing, a few fights (that's what boys do!).
Overall, loads of fun was had!

beach football

sand castles and legos

defying gravity

My little buddy Jacob, and I hung out quite a bit.
He would come over in the morning to see what I was doing,
play legos, and give me lots
of his handsome smiles.

there were loads of beautiful sunsets

an amazing storm : Hurricane Bill with the biggest waves I have ever seen.

and the quiet after the storm.

I am hoping for a nice long Indian Summer!!!!!

Ivan's old and tattered shirts(to beaten up to pass along), turned into wall art.
Wall art for a boys room is not easy to find.....favorite t-shirts are perfect,
they are a little mini history of Ivan's interests.
the army one below was a gift from his sister Kirsten...
he loved and still likes, all things army.

so was this one.... he thinks he's getting a dirt bike for his 12th Birthday....ya, right.

he picked this one out...he want to play electric guitar....
why oh' why couldn't it be the violin.....

some yard sale treasures.......
$3.00 table cloth - perfect condition.

this vintage Vera scarf from a fellow etsy'r RED EYE VINTAGE
check out her shop...lots of great items.....

rapture

I am so excited for the concert tonight!!!!.....here's my little tribute to the Fabulous Debbie....

(this is what look I am going to try to achieve for tonights concert....well except for the blond part, and the drugged out aspect...oh and being that skinny - I do have a fresh bottle of aqua net so I should be all set)

Debbie Harry, aka Blondie was a major iconic figure in my early teen years. She is/was so fantastically hip, she hung out with the likes of Andy Warhol , and Paloma Picasso.(who is on the far left...kind of "man-ish" lookin) Jerry Hall is there too...do you know she rarely washed her hair......she said hers was "self cleaning".....I guess she had Pantene in her pores..

I would look fab in this outfit..if it were a different color...
this yellow is all wrong for my skin tone....

My favorite Blondie song is Rapture...the lyrics are super crazy,
but the song has a fantastic groovy dance beat....
Toe to toe, dancing very close.
Body breathing almost comatose.
Wall to wall, people hypnotized.
And they're stepping lightly.
Hang each night, in rapture.
Back to back, sacroiliac.
Spineless movement and a wild attack.
Face to face, sightless solitude.
And it's finger popping.
Twenty four hour shopping in rapture.
Fab Five Freddy told me everybody's fly.
D.J. spinning, I said, My, My.
Flash is fast, flash is cool.
Francois, c'est pas flashe non due.
And you don't stop, sure shot.
Go out to the parking lot.
And you get in your car and drive real far.
And you drive all night and then you see a light.
And it comes right down and it lands on the ground.
And out comes the man from Mars.
And you try to run but he's got a gun.
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head.
And then you're in the man from Mars.
You go out at night eating cars.
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too.
Mercurys and Subaru.
And you don't stop.
You keep on eating cars.
Then when there's no more cars you go out at night
And eat up bars where the people meet.
Face to face.
Dance cheek to cheek.
One to one.
Man to man.
Dance toe to toe.
Don't move too slow 'cause the man from Mars is through with cars.
He's eating bars.
Yeah, wall to wall.
Door to door.
Hall to hall.
He's gonna eat 'em all.
Rapture.
Be pure.
Take a tour through the sewer.
Don't strain your brain.
Paint a train.
You'll be singing in the rain.
Said don't stop to the punk rock.
Well now you see what you wanna be.
Just have your party on T.V.
'Cause the man from Mars won't eat up bars where the T.V's on.
And now he's gone back up to space where he won't have a hassle with the human race.
And you hip hop.
And you don't stop.
Just blast off, sure shot.
'Cause the man from Mars stopped eating cars
And eating bars
And now he only eats guitars.
Get up!

huh??? I think you need a good strong narcotic to fully understand the message.....
I still like to dance to it though!

so this is where Brittany Spears got the idea....

Lovin Blondie's outfit below.....I am hoping this was shot before labor day...white shoes and all.
